Test Environments

EICORE Testing Environments are under construction. The first Test Environment will contain basic test data, where all users can log into the same Environment for testing. There will be no separation of users, and one user will be able to edit content from other users. All entered data will be erased every month and replaced with the standard test data. The second Test Environment will have user login and separation of user content. A group of users can test on shared content by assigning to the same Domain.

Web client

EICORE is currently separated into two frontends. A web-client for design of Business Processes and a holistic view of the Business Ecosystem including its dependencies . EICORE desktop contains the Power Tools for designing Information Structures, transformations, and other complex tasks. EICORE desktop will gradually be phased out as the Power Tools are becoming accessible through the web client.

API separation

The EICORE backend Database currently contains >40 SQL Functions designed for user interaction similar to an API call and can be directly transformed into Endpoints. The EICORE Web-client only connects to the backend using the SQL Functions. EICORE desktop is directly coupled with the backend, but all the functionality that gradually are transferred to the web-client, are being developed with the described backend separation. Once the EICORE desktop application is phased, out a complete separation will exist between the backend and frontend using a combination of SQL Functions and Database Contexts, or an API depending on the requested setup.

EICORE as a service

The final step is to release the EICORE Business Ecosystem as a cloud service.
